I try and stay on top of my wardrobe as much as possible, as soon as I have a spare moment I pull out all my piles and hangers and drawers full of gear and have a good old rummage.
Tatty T-shirts, seam splitting jeans and shabby socks are all forming a large pile around the bin in my room as I delve into my half-term clear out.
Although I despise the thought of going through all my clothes one by one and finally convincing myself that, unfortunately, no matter how much I attempt to diet I will never give up enough cake to fit back into my beloved grey corduroy, nor will I ever be of the age again where I can pull off a little multi coloured mushroom patterned Ra-Ra skirt, In reality; I love it.
It's a lonely job of sorting and ruthless self control. So of course, 4 piles; Offer to friends, Keep for me, Off to charity and Straight to the bin, but then there is always this lingering sub-pile of items to edit. An ever increasing stack of floor length skirts to shorten, buttons to replace, seams to fix and stupidly extensive works beyond my simplistic sewing capabilities.
But this time, this week, this otherwise useless and unproductive half term I did it. I conquered the mighty stack. Piece by piece I sewed stitched hemmed and tore my way to freedom. And how much happier I am for it. All of a sudden my bedroom has another corner I almost forgot existed, and my wardrobe gained a few more high waisted friends.
Basically my message is this, the longer you leave it the harder it gets, if you have a similar collection of items to customise and enter a moment of boredom then out with the sewing kit and off you go.
I found this blog most interesting, i fear there may come a time when you find that you do have too many highwaisted skirts, you may like them and yes, they do suit you but there will come a time when they go out of fashion and you will be stuck in this world of "high waisters" and this may be malo para tu salud porque you will struggle to find a good old pair of jeans or a skirt that sits on your hips. and please dont think you can come to me with your fashion problems because i just wont be there for you, ma sister from another mister! other than this minor peice of critisism i love following your blog it takes me away to clem world and sometimes that is a great place to be!

Thanks very much matador, always appreciate a bit of appreciation. Also huge thanks for the fashion warning, I shall create a storm shelter full of jeans and hipsters ready for the 'waisted' apocalypse.
